Installer: Done Right Electrical, Inc. (dre-solar.com)
Platform: 2017 Jayco Seneca Super C Motorhome
Application: High-Performance Mobile Off-Grid Power
Project Overview
Done Right Electrical, Inc. delivered a fully custom-engineered solar and energy storage system for a 2017 Jayco Seneca Super C owner who needed true residential-grade off-grid capability on the road. Built around Pytes V5 lithium batteries and a Victron Energy architecture, this installation goes far beyond a typical RV solar upgrade — with the installer handling complete engineering, design, and fabrication of every major subsystem, from the rooftop solar mounting structure to the aerodynamic air dam and custom equipment enclosure.

The Challenge
The Jayco Seneca platform presented two significant obstacles:
1)Limited roof structural support made traditional mechanical mounting impractical.
2)Tight interior packaging meant a conventional equipment layout would consume valuable cargo space.
The customer needed dependable power for air conditioning, residential-style loads, and onboard electronics — whether stationary or rolling down the highway.
The Solution
1)Custom Rooftop Solar Array
Approximately 2.7 kW of solar was installed across four independent PV strings using three different panel types, intentionally engineered to maximize usable roof space and maintain strong output under real-world partial-shading conditions. The array is secured by a custom aluminum mounting structure using high-performance adhesive bonding — eliminating roof penetrations. An integrated aluminum air dam reduces aerodynamic loading while delivering a clean, low-profile finish.
2)Custom Equipment Enclosure
A dedicated exterior compartment houses all electrical components in a compact, fully serviceable layout, preserving interior cargo space. It integrates a temperature-controlled ventilation system that draws cooler air from the coach interior to actively manage component temperatures.
3)Pytes V5 Lithium Battery Bank
At the heart of the system are four (4) Pytes V5 lithium batteries, chosen for their proven reliability and seamless integration with the Victron platform.
4)Victron Energy Power Architecture
i: 2 × Victron MultiPlus 5000 inverter/chargers
ii: Victron SmartSolar MPPT charge controllers managing all four PV strings
iii: Orion 48V-to-12V DC-to-DC converter for legacy 12V loads
iiii: Onan 8 kW generator, fully auto-integrated with the Victron system for seamless backup
iiiii:Touchscreen monitoring interface for real-time visibility into solar production, battery state of charge, and load consumption

Why Pytes V5 Stands Out for Mobile Use
1) Lightweight & expandable — 1/3 the weight of lead-acid batteries; scalable from 5 kWh to 490 kWh for any adventure
2) Automotive-grade durability — tested to SAE J2380 vibration standards
3) Certified safe — UL 1973 / 9540 / 9540A, plus built-in fire suppression and heating film
4) Smart protection — advanced BMS backed by 8 years of proven reliability
5) lug & play — seamless integration with Victron, Sol-Ark and other top inverters

The Result
A highly engineered, space-efficient mobile energy system that delivers true off-grid capability — powering air conditioning, residential loads, and onboard electronics whether parked or in motion. By combining Pytes V5 lithium storage with a Victron-based power architecture and fully custom fabrication, Done Right Electrical overcame the structural and packaging challenges unique to the Jayco Seneca platform.
