For a retail business operating as part of a chain of stores in the United States, high electricity costs presented an ongoing operational challenge.
Although rooftop solar offered an opportunity to reduce reliance on grid electricity, site-specific constraints made a conventional solar installation difficult to implement.
The customer needed a practical solution that could make solar energy more viable while providing backup power for the store.
The goal was to make solar work for the business while maximizing on-site energy use and avoiding electricity exports to the grid.

Working with Power Sync Solar, the project incorporated 24 Pytes HV48100 battery modules, providing 122.88 kWh of total nominal energy storage capacity, paired with four Sol-Ark 30 kW three-phase hybrid inverters.
The integrated system was designed for zero-export operation, combining rooftop solar generation with battery storage to support the store's energy needs.
The system supports three key functions:
Rooftop solar panels generate electricity to support the store's daytime energy consumption. Available excess solar energy can be stored in the Pytes battery system for use later.
After sunset, the batteries discharge stored energy to offset a portion of the store's electricity consumption, extending the benefits of solar generation beyond daylight hours.
The battery system also supports backup power during grid outages, helping the business maintain access to stored energy when utility power is unavailable. Actual backup coverage depends on system configuration and available battery capacity.
By integrating battery storage with hybrid inverter technology, the project demonstrates how energy storage can help overcome installation constraints and make commercial solar a more practical option.

The installation successfully brought rooftop solar generation and battery storage together in a zero-export commercial energy system.
According to Power Sync Solar, the solar and battery system is working well, and the customer is satisfied with the installation.
Key project benefits include:
1. Greater Solar Self-Consumption: Store available excess daytime solar energy for use when needed.
2. Reduced Grid Dependence: Offset a portion of nighttime electricity consumption with stored energy.
3. Backup Power Capability: Support the store's energy needs during grid outages.
4. Zero-Export Operation: Use on-site solar generation and storage without exporting electricity to the utility grid.
5. Integrated System Design: Combine Pytes high-voltage batteries with Sol-Ark three-phase hybrid inverters in a commercial application.
The project also demonstrates an approach that may be relevant to other retail businesses and commercial facilities facing high electricity costs or similar solar installation constraints.

Commercial energy projects often require solutions tailored to specific site conditions, electricity usage, and utility requirements.
This installation highlights how combining solar generation with battery storage can help businesses make better use of on-site renewable energy while adding backup power capability.
With 122.88 kWh of Pytes HV48100 battery storage and 120 kW of Sol-Ark hybrid inverter capacity, Power Sync Solar delivered a solution designed around the customer's commercial energy needs.
